The Second Chance Center (SCC) is a state-wide, secure, long-term, multi-jurisdictional facility. The center provides the judiciary with an alternative
to jail/prison in a secure enviroment. It targets offenders who have six (6) months to a year remaining on their sentences.
The offender participates in a rigorous full-time treatment program. The SCC provides a non-medical, detoxification and education treatment modality which provides the offender the tools to eliminate substance abuse from his life. The program helps restore personal integrity. Social workers assist the ex-offender's reintegration process.
The SCC provides 300 beds and is located in the vacated Westside Jail west of Albuquerque, NM.
