Seagrass has an impermeable fiber giving it a naturally smooth texture and sheen. Such texture, however, makes this particular fiber not an ideal option for stairs. They are also not recommended for bathrooms, kitchens, basements or any other damp and humid area, as they can be susceptible to mold and mildew.
For optimal use of your seagrass rug, you should rotate it alternative months or so to change the traffic pattern on the surface. Regular cleaning should also be done as loose particles of dirt can reduce the life span of your rug.
