Chicago’s Chinatown
has a long history with the first Chinese immigrants arriving in Chicago in the 1870’s,
after the transcontinental railroad was completed in 1869. Facing less
persecution in Chicago rather than in west coast cities, the
Chinese population steadily grew. Today you can find a rich and cultural
experience in Chicago’s Chinatown.
There is a lot of Chinese
Restaurants in Chicago, but you could never get the authentic feel without
heading to Chinatown. You may not be able to
read all the restaurants’ menus as some are in Chinese characters; however, many
do have the English translation. The décor of many of these restaurants, as you
may expect, may not be inspiring, but you can’t really beat the experience and
the food served at these Chinese
restaurants in Chinatown.
